Being a busy medical student, I have very little free time. UCSF Fitness & Rec centers are so convenient for my odd schedule and often are my solace after a long hard day in the hospital.
I love that I don't need to come with a plan in mind, just show up, see what weights/machines tickle my fancy that day, and let the sweating begin.
Within the first months of our arrival to UCSF Mission Bay Housing we met and befriended families from Denmark, England, Uganda, Japan, India, and Los Angeles. These friendships continue to enrich our lives as a family and provide a unique social and cultural experience. Living here means being close to work, as well to the Bakar Fitness Center, the great Bright Horizons preschool, grocery stores, and several parks.
Housing Services offers a secure and supportive environment that eases the transition into a busy city like San Francisco.
Thank you for putting on such fantastic events such as the Mother’s Day card making event! It is great to take a short break and use the other side of our brain after working so hard to make something meaningful. Especially when we can donate cards to patients and families in the Medical Center as well. It also transports me back to grade school and I’m sure any mother would appreciate a handmade card!
When I began working at UCSF in 2006, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that UCSF offered faculty & staff the opportunity to share their creative expressions through the annual UCSF Faculty and Staff Art Show. The Arts & Events department does an excellent job curating the show and I really look forward to participating in it each year. The UCSF Faculty and Staff Art Show has allowed me to meet fellow artists, share ideas, make new friends and to buy some great artwork! It’s been so rewarding and fun participating in the show and discovering the all the otherwise hidden artists among us.
